DAMEI ART MUSEUM

日本最知名的中国艺术家:江屹

1992年,江屹被邀请参展日本美术史中最重要的亚洲当代艺术展:《亚洲当代艺术之旅》。其展览是日本当代美术的奠基人,琦玉近代美术馆馆长田中幸人在日本琦玉近代美术馆举办的策划展。在日本战后美术史中,美术馆主要是展出西方的巨匠作品,如梵高,塞尚,莫奈,鲁本斯,维米尔等等。在1980年代的提倡多元化国际艺术新潮之下,如1984年MOMA的《20世纪美术的Primitive展》,1989年巴黎蓬皮杜艺术中心《大地的魔术师》展,日本90年代对亚洲关注。1992年在琦玉近代美术馆的《亚洲当代艺术之旅》是日本首个对亚洲专题的大型策划展览。其展览的中国参展艺术家有徐冰,蔡国强,余友涵,江屹,等等之后的代表中国的国际艺术家们。其展览非常轰动,由四位评论家写评论:评论家名古屋造型大学教授中村英树,福冈亚洲美术馆首任馆长安永幸一,琦玉近代美术馆的策展人中村诚,Mithilla美术馆长谷川时夫,可看出这个展览在日本引人注目。中村英树在画册中写到“在当下欧美的艺术的大影响之下,我们如何找出‘生命之树’?我们共有的,是否可以找出支撑我们精神的源流?寻找答案的旅途刚刚开始”。展览的前言中美术馆谈到“有悠久历史的亚洲,在近代充满了苦恼。但是亚洲在21世纪迈出了强烈的一步。现在各个领域都非常关注亚洲,不只是人口资源,而是人们对于西方近代的合理主义和物质文明走到尽头,在不同相位的亚洲精神中找出新的可能性。这个展览离开西方结构的从现代主义到后现代,土俗表现的反应的亚洲宇宙观:生命之树,去探索它的根源,重新思考当代艺术所在的面貌。”

在徐冰,蔡国强,余友涵等艺术家参展的展览,海报是使用了江屹的作品。从文献资料中看出展览会期间美术馆特别宴请蔡国强、江屹、王新平座谈。并在《朝日GRAPH》专题介绍了江屹的艺术成就。在日本的多数展览的邀请江屹作品在日本受到高度认可和广泛关注,江屹成为日本最著名的中国艺术家。

One of the most important key person to discover Chinese art history

In 1992, Jiang Yi was invited to participate in the most important Asian contemporary art exhibition in the history of Japanese Art:“ a journey of Asian contemporary art.”

The exhibition is the founder of Japanese contemporary art and director of Saitama Modern Art Museum, Yukio Tanaka, who organized the exhibition in Japan's Saitama modern art museum. The exhibition held by Xu Bing, Cai Guoqiang, Yu Youhan and other artists, the poster used Jiang Yi's works. 达美艺术中心美术馆的当代艺术开馆展,举办了国际艺术家江屹的大型个展《云观万象 墨韵千尺》。江屹是日本最著名的中国艺术家,1980年代作为第一批中国高教部派遣留学生到日本,移居日本,主要生活和创作在日本,美国华盛顿,洛杉矶,法国等地。1991年在韩国首尔举办个展,1992年被邀请参展日本美术史中最重要的亚洲当代艺术展:《亚洲当代艺术之旅》(日本琦玉近代美术馆),1993年日本东京艺术大学研究当代艺术,应邀参展台北文教基金会企画中国现代美术《抽象、现代,美感》展 1994年在日本琦玉近代美术馆举办个展,1995年获得千叶市美术馆特别奖,其雕塑作品被千叶市美术馆永久收藏。1996年美国,法国举办个展。

江屹在达美美术馆的展览举办个展,深受达美投资董事长张国利的热烈邀请。张国利是长年的江屹的收藏家,对他的作品以及思想的痴迷。这次在美术馆的个展可以说是江屹的新作品。

Jiang Yi Retrospective Exhibition and his life

At the opening exhibition of contemporary art in the Art Museum of Damei Art Museum, a large-scale solo exhibition of international artist Jiang Yi was held. He has been in the solo exhibition of Matsumura Ginza in Osaka department store, Tokyo, 2004 Individual exhibition of Chiba  Art Museum, 2005, Tokyo, JapanMitsukoshi art gallery, Tokyo, silkland Gallery, Ginza, Tokyo, modern ink writers exhibition, Ueno National Art Museum, Chiba Sanyo art gallery, SOGO eight Prince art gallery, Tokyo Matsuzaka house solo exhibition, 2007 "China's first Gansai color art exhibition", Tokyo National New Art Museum Many individual exhibitions, international exhibitions and media interviews have been held internationally.

Jiang Yi held a solo exhibition at Damei Art Museum, and was warmly invited by Zhang Guoli, CEO of DAMEI Investment and DAMEI Group. Zhang Guoli is a long-time collector of Jiang Yi. He is obsessed with his works and thoughts. This solo exhibition in the art museum can be said to be a new work of Jiang Yi.

“江屹的博士的研究其學術論文於英國、加拿大和日本等地發表,極受專業學界之重親。然而在日本、韓國,他卻以現代水墨畫家的身份,享有盛名。而在篆刻上,也以風格獨具的刀法,而被冠以「鬼刀」的封號。他不僅是個孜孜不倦的學術研究者,亦为不斷自我突破的藝術創作者。江屹的作品,用筆兼具自忞與精練。於傳锍與現代之間,相互印證啓發;於抽象與具象之間,悠遊出入自得。由於他長久在中國傳統繪畫中鑽研,加上敏銳的時代感丶過人的色彩感,使其畫面映照出意味深遠、屬於水墨特有的情趣。而他的學術專長——「油墨在紙張中的浸染原理」,更使他在運用紙墨方面,有著過人獨到之處;經營出與众不同的畫面質地、層次幽黝深邃。

江屹的畫藝成就,於經歷了漫長的創作、探索,方才得以充實圓滿。最早潜心於國畫寫意花鳥、西畫人體素描,乃至金石篆刻,書法木刻,均能深造有得。而後負笈日本,完成繁重學之餘,致力於繪畫創作不惙,發展岀寫實與寫意交互運用抽象與具象交織溶合的個人風格;不斷對人的本質進行探討、挖掘,產生一種震懾人心的力量。

而他主張科學丶人文(文學丶美術丶音樂……)間具有相輔相成密不可分的連繫,互为礎石根基,相互啓示發明;對當前大多數中國現代畫家,所面臨的傳承與創新此一艱鉅的課題,無疑地提供了一個新的方向。江屹於學術、繪畫、篆刻、書法……等多方面博采众長,「全方位」地表現,为抽象畫的「美麗新世界」鉤勒出壯美莊麗的遠景!”

The first Chinese cross border Artist: Jiang Yi

In the 1980s, Jiang Yi was sent by the Ministry of higher education of China to study physics and obtained a Ph.D. in physics. He is the first doctoral dissertation in permeation Science in the world. His paper was published in the United States, which can be said to be a very good physicist. Jiang Yi's father loves calligraphy. Naturally, he loves art very much. His artistic talent is not covered by physics, but fused together. The curator and collector of the Japanese Art Museum has found new possibilities for Oriental Art in this regard. In the 1980s, Jiang Yi's works combined his physical background with Chinese ink painting and calligraphy to analyze the mysteries of Chinese ink painting in the way of dimensional mathematics and fractal mathematics. Japan has become the first Chinese cross-border artist. "Dr. Jiang Yi's academic thesis have been published in the UK, Canada and Japan, and are highly respected by the professional academic community. However, in Japan and South Korea, he is famous as a modern ink painter. In seal cutting, He is also called "Kito" because of his unique style. 被誉为“当代散文八大家”的林清玄谈到

“身为一位艺术家,又是一位数理博士,江屹基本上认为艺术与科学是相通的,而艺术在高层次上也是相通的,一个艺术家只有在充分把握这种共性的基础,才可能谈到彼此间的区别。

他认为,一些很简单的中国画同时也是一幅很简洁,概括,具有思想性的好素描,因为素描是人对事物的看法,也是一种宇宙观的表现形式,所以他觉得有些人认为中国画没有素描是可笑的看法。

他认为散点透视法和立体派的原理相通;写意画则是表现主义和野兽派;讲意境则是象征主义,工笔画是新古典主义。。。

他强调: “传统的意义在于它能让人登上一个新的阶梯。” “应该在更高的层次上看中国画,画中国画,不能自己将自己的手脚捆起来。” “我想在极端物理意义上找到一种潜在的意识和感情,让物质和精神在高的层次上得到沟通。”

因此,江屹的艺术可以说是某种共振,某种刺激,某种挖掘,甚至某种碰撞的结果,表面形式反而不是那么重要了。他要抓住的是本质,就好像抓住了一个人的细胞就包含了人的身体相同的结构,“只要一个中国艺术家抓住这种本质,就不必过分强调传统或强调自己是中国人”江屹说。”

"As an artist and a doctor of mathematics and physics, Jiang Yi basically believes that art and science are interlinked, and art is also interlinked at a high level. Only when an artist fully grasps the basis of this commonness can he talk about the differences between them.
In his opinion, some very simple Chinese paintings are also a simple, general and thoughtful sketch. Because sketch is people's view of things and a manifestation of the world outlook, he thinks it is ridiculous that some people think that there is no sketch in Chinese painting.
He thinks that the principle of scattered perspective is similar to that of Cubism; freehand brushwork is expressionism and fauvism; artistic conception is symbolism; meticulous painting is neoclassicism...
"The significance of tradition is that it takes people up a new ladder," he stressed "We should look at Chinese painting at a higher level. We should not tie our hands and feet together when painting Chinese painting." Jiang Yi said  "I want to find a kind of potential consciousness and emotion in the extreme physical sense, so that the material and the spirit can be communicated at a high level."
Therefore, Jiang Yi's art can be said to be the result of some resonance, some stimulation, some excavation and even some kind of collision, but the surface form is not so important. What he wants to grasp is essence, just as if grasping a person's cell contains the same structure of human body. "As long as a Chinese artist grasps this essence, he doesn't have to overemphasize tradition or emphasize that he is Chinese’"

开幕当天来了国内外的多数藏家,企业家,非常热闹。北京荣宝斋总经理刘尚勇谈到江屹的艺术成就,表达了江屹的作品对自己心灵的冲击,指出江屹的艺术理念和作品对中国绘画贯通过去和未来,跨界自然科学到人文艺术领域,从东方走向世界,起到了重大作用,是东方的达芬奇。

同时,嘉宾对达美艺术中心的设施与环境给出了高度评价,赞扬了达美艺术中心对中国文化艺术发展做出的贡献。

压轴环节,江屹先生为广大来宾详细阐述了分维水墨画艺术理念的形成过程,以及当代数理与东方水墨的完美融合做出的探索。
