简介：
The work transforms a 250 year-old loom (purchased from the Jacquard Museum of France) into a sound and image instrument. A single-screen is projected onto the threads through a mirror. An IR camera and ultrasonic distance sensors were used for the tracking. A participant can sit and interact with the machine one at a time.  A light bar snaps to and follows the participant’s hand movements.  He or she then generates mechanical soundscapes, or malleable musical expressions based on their interaction. One can play on the threads (like a harp), and control 4-voice harmonies and volumes by the hands’ positions in midair.

这件作品把购自法国提花博物馆的一台有着250年历史的织布机转变成了一套音像俱全的乐器。透过一面镜子，一块完整的屏幕被投射到纱线上，而红外摄像机和超声距离传感器则用来跟踪。参观者可以一一坐下来与机器互动。一根光条被吸附到参观者的手部，跟随着人手一起移动，让参观者能够生成机械的音景，也可以根据互动来随意地用音乐表情达意。参观者既可以在纱线上弹奏（如弹奏竖琴），也可以用手在空中弹起4声和弦。
