题目:Researching and Designing Products for Traders 为促进贸易的产品设计和研究 This senior studio was run as a two-semester course that examined the future of the trading environment at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). The University of Illinois Chicago's Industrial Design program worked with the CME's Center for Innovation on the design of products that facilitate trading in the year 2010. This year long course involved the collaboration of a unique set of participants ? a university-based Industrial Design program, graphic design assistance, a prominent local industry (The Chicago Mercantile Exchange), and computer science consultancy for assistance with emerging technologies research. This joint studio effort touches on the links between industrial and interaction design, applications of emerging technologies to designed products, and provides a case study for the burgeoning field of design research. The student-designers performed research within the trading floor environment, researched emerging technologies, and applied this learning to the design of three products. These products are designed to work together as an overall trading system in order to facilitate the most efficient trading environment.
主讲:Professor STEPHANIE MUNSON 设计学硕士,University of Illinois at Chicago 大学工业设计与互动设计学科助理教授 Stephanie Munson is an assistant professor of industrial and interactive design at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she teaches studios in industrial design, and interactive product design. She received a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, and a masters degree in industrial design from the Rhode Island School of Design. The focus of her work has been in the emerging hybrid practice at the intersection of industrial and interaction design? the mediation between people, stuff, and technology. She is interested in design as a way of thinking and has a great interest in all design disciplines. She has focused on building a multidisciplinary approach to design with work experience in industrial design, interaction design, engineering, and business at Ford Motor Company, amazon.com, Armstrong Industries, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
