被称为“日本动画界第一人”。1959年加入手冢治虫设立的动漫专业制作公司“虫Production” 。1972年与出崎统、林太郎、川尻善昭等人共同成立了Madhouse株式会社。丸山正雄曾与日本动漫之父手冢治虫先生共同制作动画，40年来支撑着日本动漫业界，参与制作了大量作品，如《藏獒多吉》、《夏日大作战》、《穿越时空的少女》、《骇客帝国动画版》、《东京教父》、《千年女优》、《NANA》、《死亡笔记》、《花田少年史》等，丸山先生不仅在日本国内有着良好的口碑，更是享誉世界的明星级专家。2011年丸山先生离开MADHOUSE，成立了自己的MAPPA动漫公司，又开始了他新的动漫旅程。

Masao Maruyama is a Japanese film producer, animation developer, the co-founder, board of directors’ member, and producer of Studio Madhouse, one of the leading animation production companies in the world. Born in Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture, he is a 40-plus year veteran of the animation business. Producer of the Tibet Dog, Summer Wars, Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress...In 2011, he left Madhouse and established MAPPA, marching on his now journey.
